Allen County residents are invited to safely dispose of household hazardous materials during this free collection event. Proper disposal helps protect our environment, groundwater, and community health.
Acceptable Items
The following residential materials will be accepted:
Oil-based and lead-based paints, varnishes, stains
Paint thinner and solvents
Compact and tube fluorescent bulbs and PCB ballasts
Medications (accepted in coordination with the Allen County Sheriff’s Office)
Items Not Accepted
Business or non-resident materials
Explosives (ammo, gunpowder, flares)
Regulated medical waste
Radioactive or unstable materials
Froth pack / cyanurate tanks
Latex or water-based paint
Document Shredding
Do you have personal documents that need to be shredded?
We will have on-site document shredding available for you. Note: any previously shredded material you wish to recycle must be sealed in a bag to prevent escape.

Allen County Community-Wide Clean Up Week 2026
Allen County residents are encouraged to participate in our annual Community-Wide Clean-Up Week.
Clean-Up Week items must be taken directly to the Transfer Station.

💲 Special Event Fee: $50 per ton (Normal rate is $100 per ton)

Important Notes
Volunteer Fire Departments are NOT drop-off locations for Clean-Up Week items.
Fire Departments will only accept regular recyclable items.
No hazardous materials, tires, brush, or household garbage will be accepted at Fire Department locations.
